Summit Boys Lacrosse Team Raises Over $28K For 2022 Season
The team received an overwhelming amount of support from the Summit community after creating a GoFundMe to raise funds for the new season.
SUMMIT, NJ — After an incredible 2021 season, the Summit High School Boys Hilltopper Lacrosse team reached out to the community to fundraise ahead of the 2022 season and received an overwhelming response.
Just a few weeks ago, the team created a GoFundMe page to raise funds for the Summit Lacrosse Alumni Association — a non-profit dedicated to the SHS Lacrosse Program — to benefit the boys team and coaching staff. The community rallied around the team and has raised over $28K for the 2022 season.
During the 2021 season, the boys went all the way to the NJ State Tournament of Champions and legendary Coach Jim Davidson cleared 400+ wins in his career.

On the GoFundMe page, the team wrote, "Every year comes with new requests for the program and we know that our fundraising efforts will help us to continuously invest in the program not just for the 2022 season, yet for every future Hilltoppers Lacrosse player in years to come. The tradition will continue."
The team is conducting the annual lacrosse fundraiser through GoFundMe versus an in-person event and door-to-door activity to be mindful of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The goal for the 2022 season is to raise $35,000.
These funds will go toward extra coaches, player meals, drinks, equipment, spring trip expenses, player t-shirts, uniforms, video recording of all games, program kickoff picnic, photography, expenses, tournament fees, banners displayed in the end zone for every home game, awards, trophies and other special gifts to make the program memorable for all Summit players.
