Internet Outages May Put Delay In Summit City Hall Responses

The city warned that national outages in Comcast services might affect city hall today.

SUMMIT, NJ — Summit officials are warning residents that city hall may be affected by national outages in Comcast Xfinity services.

"Comcast is experiencing an outage and, as a result, internet and email is impacted at City Hall. There may be a delay in service until our internet is restored. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause," the city tweeted.

A major outage across the nation, including in New Jersey and Pennslyvania, is impacting Comcast Xfinity customers' phones, internet and television services on Tuesday morning.

Multiple police departments and municipalities in the state are reporting issues to their phone service as a result, including Scotch Plains and Roselle in Union County. Summit did not report their police lines being affected.

911 is still working or residents who need to call for an emergency.
