Dear Summit Free Public Library patrons and community members,

As we head into December, and dive deeper into the holiday season, our checklist of things to do often starts to grow – there are ingredients to get, gifts to grab, and friends to call. There is a place that can give you support, inspiration, and help: the Library! Here are a few ways that the Library can help you shelve the stress and embrace the holiday joy this season.

Let’s start with gifts – before you buy that newest gadget for your niece or nephew, check out Consumer Reports (free at the Library). You’ll find ratings for hundreds of top products from technology to kitchen gadgets. Read through accurate reviews, compare it to other brands and models, and determine the best quality so your gifts are the ones everyone will want to open!

Want to gift some homemade love this year? It’s time to get crafty! Print a design on the Library’s 3D printer in our Think-It Lab, attend an in-person craft program, or access one of the thousands of online art and craft classes through Creativebug from the comfort of your home.

Sufiganiyot, apple pie, gingerbread cookies – whatever you decide to bake this holiday season, the Library has both classic and new cookbooks full of delicious recipes and photos that will bring out your inner baker. You can also access popular cooking magazines (like Bon Appétit and Food Network) in-person and online via the Overdrive/Libby app.

And what better way to get in the holiday spirit than to spend time with friends and family? Attend one of our winter concerts, check-out a Museum Pass, curl up on the couch with a book, or have a movie night with one of our new Binge Boxes.

No matter how long your holiday checklist gets, the Library is here to help you have a merry and bright holiday season. On behalf of all of us at the Library, we wish you and yours laughter, love, safety, and warmth in the coming weeks! As always, if there is anything that we at the Library can do to better meet your needs, please feel free to contact me at abs@summitlibrary.org or (908) 277-9455.

Sincerely,

Amy Behr-Shields
