SUMMIT, NJ — The Thanksgiving holiday will mean widespread closures affecting most businesses and government operations. But there will be a few important services will be available.

Fast food: Chains like McDonald's, Dunkin', Starbucks and Subway might be open, but hours may vary from store to store.
Government: City Hall, schools and the library are closed. The U.S. Postal Service will not deliver mail on Thanksgiving.
Grocery stores: Wegmans and Aldi are closed. Stop & Shop will be open regular hours. Find details about other stores here.
Retail stores: It'll be hit-or-miss, but some national chains like CVS, Walgreens, Family Dollar and Rite Aid may be open. Call ahead.
DMV: All offices will be closed on Thanksgiving.
Trash pickup: Citywide curbside recycling has been rescheduled from Thursday to Friday. Residents should place items at the curb by 6AM on Friday.
