Widespread Power Outage Hits Summit Wednesday

The library was utilized as a resource center for those who needed a place to go.

UPDATE: According to a message sent out by the City at 11:25 a.m., power has been restored.

SUMMIT, NJ — The City of Summit said electricity is out "throughout the city" on Wednesday morning due to a JCP&L power failure.

An emergency response plan has been activated with officers out directing traffic.

Those who need to access certain resources can go to the Summit Public Library, which is being run on a fully-operational generator.

The library is located at 75 Maple St.
