Man Charged With Sex Assault Years After Victim's Hospital Visit: Bergen County Prosecutor
A Bergen County man has been charged with sexual assault after a victim went to the hospital, prosecutors said.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Bergen County man has been charged with sexual assault over a year after a victim went to the hospital, prosecutors said.
Carlos L. Sibri, 33, of Hackensack, was charged last Friday with aggravated sexual assault and attempted aggravated sexual assault, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.
Prosecutors said that on Dec. 17, 2023, a Sunday, Hackensack University Medical Center contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Hackensack Police Department regarding a patient who arrived at the hospital seeking medical care after an alleged sexual assault.

After months of continuous investigation, prosecutors say, detectives determined that Sibri sexually assaulted the victim in Hackensack between Dec. 16 and Dec. 17, 2023.
He was arrested in Paramus and charged with the first-degree offenses. He was taken to the Bergen County Jail to await a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack.
