Event to Mark Child Abuse Awareness Month in Teaneck

Free weekend symposium to include workshops, resource fair

The public is invited to a symposium featuring advocacy groups, educators, officials and health professionals Saturday at World of Wings in Teaneck. 

The event, organized by Teaneck High School's FORUM program, is being held to mark Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month, according to a news release. Attendees will be able to visit workshops on various topics including careers, nutrition and exercise, financial literacy, housing and counseling services.

In addition to workshops and the resource fair, the free event will include a performance by Reflections, a Bergen County volunteer teen theater group. 

"The ensemble will present an improvised scene on the importance of self care and being connected to the resources in your community. The performance will be followed by an interactive discussion with the audience," the release said.
