Gottheimer Stands With Bergen Muslims Following Terror Attacks

The Democratic congressman said 'our Muslim brothers and sisters are integral members of our vibrant North Jersey community."

TEANECK, NJ — Rep. Josh Gottheimer visited the Dar-ul-Islah Mosque Saturday to meet in solidarity with Muslims.

"We prayed for an end to hatred and violence at home and abroad," said Gottheimer, a Democrat from Wyckoff.

Gottheimer spoke with children and teenagers about how they all must "stand against hate and intolerance, wherever it rears its ugly head, and remember that our differences are our greatest strength."

A terrorist attack at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand left 50 people dead, CNN reported. The man wrote an 87-page manifesto and posted it to social media. It was filled with anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim screeds, according to the report.
