Injuries Reported in NJ Turnpike Crash

An accident in the northbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike in Ridgefield Park led to injuries and traffic delays Friday afternoon.

State police at the Newark station said one driver was conscious and alert after the crash. They could not immediately provide additional details.

The accident was reported near the approach to Route 80, according to the state Department of Transportation. The agency also reported injuries on its traffic website.

Lanes were temporarily blocked around 2 p.m., but later reopened. A State Police spokesman did not immediately have more information.  

Ridgefield Park firefighters, along with medics were at the scene.
