Photos Show Holy Name Medical Center's Coronavirus Response

Holy Name Medical Center has released inspiring images chronicling the daily lives of front-line workers amid the coronavirus pandemic.

TEANECK, NJ — Bergen County — Teaneck, specifically — is at the epicenter of New Jersey's outbreak of the new coronavirus, and workers at Holy Name Medical Center are on the front lines.

The hospital Wednesday shared photos taken by Jeff Rhode, a former member of the Star-Ledger photography department, that provide a peek inside the daily lives of front line workers treating patients with the virus.

Rhode said he tries to visit patients every day and hopes that his appearance helps them deal with their isolation. "It’s a great feeling to be able to help them talk with the people that love them," he said.

Earlier this month, a Holy Name spokesperson told Patch the hospital was caring for 100 patients at once who had either tested positive for the coronavirus or awaiting test results.

"We are working round-the-clock caring for patients and modifying medical units with new construction," the hospital's foundation told Patch. "But as we strive to meet the demand of new patients and those who are seriously ill with the virus, our supplies are rapidly decreasing."
