Man Charged For 'Sexual Conduct' With Child Under 13: Bergen County Prosecutor

A Bergen County man was charged Friday for "sexual conduct" with a child under 13, prosecutors said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Cliffside Park man has been charged with a sex crime against a child under 13 in that town, prosecutors said Monday.

Daniel E. Lauture, 49, was charged on Friday with sexual assault by contact and endangering the welfare of a child, said the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.

Prosecutors said that on Friday, Sept. 20, the Cliffside Park Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding alleged abuse of a child.

An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Cliffside Park Police Department determined that Lauture "engaged in sexual conduct with a child under the age of 13 in Cliffside Park, NJ," prosecutors said.

He was arrested in Cliffside Park, NJ, and charged with the two second-degree crimes.

He was taken to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, prosecutors said.
