Bogota Man Sexually Assaulted Minor 'On Multiple Occasions': Bergen County Prosecutor

A Bogota man was charged with four counts of sexual assault for crimes against a child 16 or under, prosecutors said

BOGOTA, NJ — A Bogota man has been charged with sexual assault for crimes against a child 16 or under, prosecutors said Wednesday.

Juan S. Flores-Mejia was charged last week with four counts of second-degree sexual assault and a count of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.

Prosecutors said that on Oct. 1, the Bogota Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a child under the age of 16.

An investigation determined that Flores-Mejia sexually assaulted the minor "on multiple occasions in Bogota."

He was arrested in Paramus and taken to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, prosecutors said.
