A 27-year-old New Milford man was driving while intoxicated when he slammed into a tree on River Road early Sunday, injuring him and his sister, authorities said. Alejandro J. Beasley Jr. was driving his 2009 Volkswagen Passat north on River Road around 4:30 a.m. when he suddenly drove off the roadway and violently crashed into a tree near Dearborn Street, a statement from Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said. Prosecutors charged him with assault by auto, driving while intoxicated, careless driving and uninsured motor vehicle. Bail was set at $25,000. Beasley and his 24-year-old sister, Ariana K.
