New Milford Man Charged in Teaneck Crash That Seriously Injured His Sister
Both treated for internal injuries after River Road crash, authorities say.
A 27-year-old New Milford man was driving while intoxicated when he slammed into a tree on River Road early Sunday, injuring him and his sister, authorities said.
Alejandro J. Beasley Jr. was driving his 2009 Volkswagen Passat north on River Road around 4:30 a.m. when he suddenly drove off the roadway and violently crashed into a tree near Dearborn Street, a statement from Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.
Prosecutors charged him with assault by auto, driving while intoxicated, careless driving and uninsured motor vehicle. Bail was set at $25,000.
Beasley and his 24-year-old sister, Ariana K. Beasley, both suffered internal injuries in the crash and were taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, Molinelli said. She remained hospitalized after surgery for injuries to her spleen and kidneys.
Her condition could not be released, a hospital spokeswoman said Tuesday.
