Person Found Dead On NJ Waterfront Identified As Long Island Man

A person found dead in a waterfront park in Fort Lee has been identified by prosecutors, who are seeking information from the public.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A person who was found dead at a public park in Fort Lee last weekend has been identified by prosecutors.

The person has been identified as Jairo Lopez-Lopez, 25, of Hempstead, Long Island, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office on Friday.

Prosecutors said he Palisades Interstate Parkway Police Department responded to Ross Dock in Fort Lee around 11 a.m. last Saturday, after a person was found dead on the shoreline.

While the person has been identified, investigators have been unable to make contact with next of kin, prosecutors said.
