Temple Emeth Hosts Shabbat Dinner, Trachtenberg Lecture

The following news was submitted by Temple Emeth:

Rabbi Jeffrey Salkin was invited to speak at the annual Temple Emeth Rabbi Joshua Trachtenberg Memorial Lecture which was held after the Shabbat service on October 12.  His topic was "The Gods are Broken"  which brought new meaning to one of the most popular Jewish stories that does not appear in the Bible, that of young Abraham destroying the idols in his father’s idol shop.  Pictured in photo are from left to right, Cantor Ellen Tilem, Rabbi Jeffrey Salkin, Rabbi Steven Sirbu and Rabbi Joshua Leighton.  A festive Shabbat dinner preceded the program.
