Teaneck fire crews faced a series of emergency calls Thursday.

Teaneck firefighters faced a series of emergency calls Thursday, including a flipped over vehicle, a report of an explosion and an hours long investigation of smoke in a Cedar Lane business.
The series of calls began around 5:45 p.m. on Route 4 westbound, near Teaneck, Fire Chief Anthony Verley reported. Firefighters had to deal with the unstable vehicle and clear dangerous fluids from the highway.
Few details have been released on the crash, but police said at least one person was taken to with non life-threatening injuries.
In the midst of the crash response, fire alarms came in at a house on Argonne Court. Only a Teaneck engine and ladder truck were available for the call so the Englewood Fire Department provided mutual aid at the alarm.
One of the day's more unusual calls came in around 6:10 p.m. when a Queen Anne Road resident reported their house shook in what the homeowner thought was an explosion, the chief said. The source was traced to a truck being loaded with large concrete blocks.
Shortly before 9:30 p.m., Teaneck firefighters were called to a report of smoke at the on Cedar Lane. Crews checked other stores in the complex and used a thermal imaging camera to search for any fire, the department reported. While at that scene, two other alarms were called in.
Through the busy shift, firefighters had to deal with someone who pulled an alarm and fled at East Forest and Loraine Avenues late that night, the report said. In all, the fire crews faced a dozen calls during the shift.
