Sen. Loretta Weinberg To Attend SOTU As Speaker Pelosi's Guest
Weinberg: "I am grateful for the opportunity to attend and bear witness to this address at such an important time in our nation's history."

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — State Sen. Loretta Weinberg will attend President Donald Trump's State of the Union address Tuesday night as Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's guest.
Weinberg, the Senate's majority leader, issued a statement about Pelosi's invitation. She said she was "grateful for the opportunity" to attend the State of the Union.
"I’m honored by Speaker Pelosi’s invitation. As the nation’s first female Speaker of the House, she is an inspiration to women all over this country. I am proud to join her tonight as she sits behind, but elevated above, President Trump," said Weinberg, a Democrat representing New Jersey's 37th Legislative District. "She is a longtime leader in Democratic values and as the head of the People’s House she is a powerful, necessary antithesis to President Trump’s reckless, racist, and misogynistic attacks on our country."
