Teaneck Cat Licensing to Begin

Township residents reminded to register their pets

The following announcement was issued by the Teaneck Health Department:

The Health Department would like to remind cat owners that cat licensing renewals begin on April 1, 2013.  Residents will have until May 31, 2013 to renew their cat licenses with no penalty.  The fee is $13 for not spayed or not neutered and $10 for spayed or neutered.  As of June 1st,  a $15 late fee will be added.  Residents who have new cats or who need renewal applications may obtain one by calling 201-837-1600 (x 1500) or on-line at www.teanecknj.gov  (under Health Department Documents & Forms).  Free rabies shots can be arranged through the Teaneck Animal Clinic and Spa at (201) 530-5833 or Bergen Veterinary Hospital at (201) 837-3470.

Cat owners should also note that rabies shots that expire prior to February 1, 2014 are NOT valid for licensing purposes. Personal checks are the preferred method of payment and should be made payable to the Township of Teaneck.  Cash is also accepted.
