Teaneck Looks to Expand Town-Wide Garage Sale
More than 250 signed up for weekend sale.
Teaneck officials are exploring hosting additional town-wide garage sales after the weekend's sale was hailed as a success.
Councilman Elie Y. Katz, who , said the township could come up with three dates for future town-wide garage sales. The sale could also be held both Saturday and Sunday.
"There's no reason why this can't be done two or three times a year," Deputy Mayor Adam Gussen said at Tuesday's .

More than 250 people signed up for the sale on Sunday, according to Township Manager William Broughton.
"It was a very good idea," Broughton said. "It really took off."

Residents were able to register their home address online and the township published a list of sales online. Township Executive Assistant Issa Abbasi credited a Google Map allowing residents to pinpoint the location of every sale.
One apparent consequence of the event popularity was traffic, and Councilman Mark Schwartz said the town should include a reminder about proper parking with any advertisements.
Other North Jersey communities have held similar sales, but it was the first such event in Teaneck. Officials are expected to meet to hash out future dates.
