Teaneck Man Got $17K In Disability Insurance While Working: AG

Ramdeo Ramsaran, 54, collected disability payments for 1 year while he was working, authorities allege.

TEANECK, NJ — A township man was accused of collecting more than $17,000 in disability insurance benefits while working, state Attorney General Gurbir Grewal announced Monday.

From August 2016 and July 2017, Ramdeo Ramsaran, 54, allegedly collected total disability payments from Hudson Insurance Company. He claimed he was unable to work, but was working during that time, Grewal said, and allegedly lied and submitted fraudulent documents to support his claim.

A grand jury indicted Ramsaran on second-degree fraud and third-degree theft Wednesday, Grewal said.
