Teaneck Police to Collect Drugs in National Effort
Authorities have collected more than 2 million pounds of prescription medications in past initiatives.

The following announcement was issued by the Teaneck Police Department:
The Teaneck Police Department will be participating in this year’s National Take Back Initiative sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration New Jersey Division. We will be hosting a collection site on Saturday, April 27th & Sunday, April 28th (10AM to 2PM). In the four previous Take-Back events, DEA in conjunction with state, local, and tribal law enforcement partners have collected more than 2 million pounds (1,018 tons) of prescription medications.
The goal of the program is to allow the citizens of New Jersey to rid their homes of unused, unwanted, or expired medications by turning these medications in to law enforcement officials who can in turn dispose of these controlled substances in a safe and non-hazardous manner, preventing these pills from falling into the hands of juveniles or into the illicit market in our communities.
