Township Plans Flu Clinics for Residents
Pre-registration begins Thursday to get a flu shot through the Township's health department.

Pre-registration for flu shots begin Thursday for township residents who meet certain requirements, according to the health department.
Starting Thursday morning, residents can pre-register in the lower level of the Municipal Building on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. - 5:15 p.m. and on Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
In order to pre-register you must be a Teaneck resident, 50 or older, pregnant or chronically ill with a doctor's note. You need to bring proof of residency, age, a photo identification and Medicare Part B card (if applicable).
Vaccines will be administered for free to those with Medicare Part B. If you do not have Medicare Part B there will be a $25 charge for the flu shot and a $90 charge for the pneumonia shot. Payments must be made by check.
The vaccine protects against influenza B, H3N2 and the H1N1 virus. Pneumonia shots will also be given at the clinic.
The Bergen County Department of Health Services is also offering two county-wide flu clinics Nov. 12 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Boiling Springs Garden Southwest Center at 147 Hackensack St, East Rutherford, and Nov. 19 at the same time at the Americas Unidas Multicultural Center at 101 Hudson St. in Hackensack.

The shots will be available to county residents 65 and older. They will be free for residents who present a Medicare card with Part B/Medical Insurance coverage and aren't covered by an HMO.
