Troopers Seize More Than $780K in I-95 Traffic Stop
Money was found in hidden compartment, troopers say.

A routine traffic stop on Interstate 95 in Fort Lee led state troopers to seize more than $783,000 and arrest two Bronx men on money laundering charges, state police said in a statement Tuesday night.
Trooper Stephen Spitaleri saw a blue Ford Expedition driving erratically on the highway’s southbound lanes April 19, state police said. After the stop, an investigation turned up the cash in a box and hydraulically operated compartment hidden inside the truck.
The two 45-year-old men in the Expedition, Franklin Delacruz and Jose Tremillo-Carnillo, were charged with money laundering and conspiracy. Both were taken to the Bergen County Jail on $500,000 full cash bail.
