A two-car accident in the westbound lanes of Route 4, before River Road, sent at least one person to the hospital Tuesday evening, officials said.
No serious injuries were reported but police said at least one person was being taken to Hackensack University Medical Center. The crash forced the closure of the left and center westbound lanes of the highway between Belle Avenue and River Road.
As of around 7 p.m., delays were reported in the eastbound lanes between Maywood Avenue in Paramus and Queen Anne Road, according to the state Department of Transportation. Route 4 East traffic was also slowed near Englewood.

The accident was first reported shortly before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps were at the scene along with Teaneck and Bergen County police.
