Wanted Teaneck Man Arrested After Threatening EMS Workers

Police found the man was already wanted on warrants in Little Ferry and Passaic.

TEANECK, NJ — A Teaneck man was arrested Friday, April 24, after threatening members of the Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps. with a knife.

In a statement, Teaneck Police Department said EMS workers were sent to a house in the 100 block of Griggs Avenue after a man reported feeling weak.

Shortly after entering the home of 36-year-old Enso Rodriguez, EMS workers ran back outside, telling police the man had brandished a knife.

Police said more officers were sent to the scene, where they created a perimeter around the man's property. Rodriguez was then seen on the back deck of his home, police said. He responded to officers' commands, and he was placed in handcuffs.

Police investigated inside the man's home and found that as TVAC workers went inside, Rodriguez reached into a kitchen drawer and pulled out an object with a black handle, shouting "I told you to stay the f*ck away from me."

Rodriguez was found to be wanted on two outstanding warrants out of Little Ferry and Passaic. He was arrested on charges of unlawful possession of a weapon and aggravated assault of an EMT.

He was taken to the Teaneck Police Department and remanded to the Bergen County Jail Annex, police said.
