Red flags warning of high rip current risks have been posted for several days at beaches up and down the Jersey Shore. The Ocean County Sheriff's Office has repeatedly issued alerts telling people to stay out of the water because the risks are high even for very strong swimmers.
There were 12 people rescued from rip currents over the weekend from unguarded beaches, NJ.com reported.
