Beachwood Opens Cooling Center For Residents As Heat Wave Continues

The continuing heat wave has prompted the offer of a space for residents who lack adequate cooling, Beachwood officials said.

BEACHWOOD, NJ — Beachwood officials have opened the courtroom at the Beachwood Municipal Complex again Wednesday as a cooling center for residents.

Borough officials said the cooling center is available to those in need as the heat index again was forecast to reach dangerous levels. Temperatures over 100 degrees have been recorded in New Jersey the last two days and that was anticipated to happen again Wednesday, the National Weather Service has said.

The cooling center will be open from noon to 4 p.m. and is at the municipal complex, 1600 Pinewald Road.
