Bomb Threats Lock Down 2 Jersey Shore Hospitals
Authorities said the two Ocean County hospitals were placed on lockdown while they were swept for possible explosives.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A pair of bomb threats called in to two Ocean County hospitals on Tuesday evening remain under investigation on Wednesday, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office confirmed.
Authorities were notified shortly before 6 p.m. that bomb threats had been made to Community Medical Center in Toms River and to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood.
The prosecutor's office said both hospitals were placed on lockdown and all EMS traffic diverted for more than two hours while the hospitals were swept by K-9 units from the Ocean County Sheriff's Office.

The sweeps showed no devices, and the hospitals were reopened after 8 p.m., authorities said.
The High Tech Crime, Major Crime Unit-Arson, and Homeland Security squads of the prosecutor's office, along with Lakewood and Toms River police and the sheriff's department are investigating.
