The annual message from the sheriff's department welcoming Santa Claus to Ocean County can be heard online.

OCEAN COUNTY, NJ — We know the skies over Ocean County are a busy place with airliners and helicopters and the military from Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst flying over.

It can be complicated place for anyone to visit — including Santa Claus.

Each year, Ocean County Sheriff's Department dispatchers make sure to let local law enforcement know when the Jolly Ol' Elf's arrival on Christmas Eve is imminent — and the public can listen in.

That annual dispatch — the sheriff's office has been making the dispatch for more than a dozen years — is set for 7 p.m. and you don't need a police scanner to hear it.
