Man Charged In Massachusetts Avenue Hit-And-Run In Toms River
The 28-year-old victim of the hit-and-run is in critical condition, authorities said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A Toms River man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash that critically injured another Toms River man, authorities announced Friday.
Stacy Jordan, 60, was arrested Friday in the Sept. 21 crash on Massachusetts Avenue that injured Lance Carter, according the joint announcement from Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Toms River Police Department Officer-in-Charge Peter Sundack.
Jordan has been charged with knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in serious bodily injury to another person, authorities said. He is being held in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River pending a detention hearing.

Carter, 28, was hit at 9:38 p.m. as he walked along Massachusetts Avenue near Mobile Lane on Sept. 21, authorities said. He is in critical condition at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, family members said.
Authorities had been searching for a blue Volkswagen sedan that was seen headed northbound on Massachusetts Avenue. They were able to determine Jordan was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Jordan was arrested in Toms River without incident, authorities said.
The Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit-Vehicular Homicide Squad, Toms River Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit collaborated on the investigation.
