Man Seriously Injured In Thanksgiving Parkway Crash In Toms River

The Pine Beach man was hurt when his SUV ran off the road in 1 of 2 crashes reported 20 minutes apart on Thanksgiving, state police said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A Pine Beach man was seriously injured Thanksgiving evening when his SUV ran off the Garden State Parkway in Toms River, New Jersey State Police said.

Jason Kroessig, 28, was driving north in a Lexus SUV when he ran off the road near milepost 86.7 about 6:50 p.m. and hit several trees on the right side of the highway, State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said.

Kroessig sustained serious injuries, Lebron said.

A second crash was reported at 7:08 p.m. on the southbound side of the Parkway near milepost 85, Lebron said.

There were four vehicles involved in that crash but the injuries were minor, he said.

Both crashes remain under investigation, Lebron said.
