Motorcyclist Killed, Dirt Biker Injured In Parkway Crash In Toms River

A Beachwood man was killed in the crash that happened Sunday afternoon, police said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A Beachwood man died and a Toms River man was seriously injured in a crash involving a motorcycle and a dirt bike on the Garden State Parkway in Toms River on Sunday, according to New Jersey State Police.

Antonio Caprara, 26, of Beachwood, died at the scene of the crash that happened about 1 p.m. at milepost 81.7 southbound on the Parkway, NJ State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said.

Lenny Ritorto, 49, of Toms River, sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital, Lebron said.

Based on a preliminary investigation, Caprara was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle south on the right shoulder of the Parkway and Ritorto was riding an SSR dirt bike in the acceleration lane from the Exit 81 entrance ramp when the Kawasaki collided with the SSR, Lebron said.

Both bikes crashed and both riders were thrown, Lebron said.

The crash remains under investigation, and no further information is available at this time, Lebron said.
