Pedestrian Killed In Toms River Crash, NJ State Police Records Show

The crash on Saturday night partially closed Fischer Boulevard, the Ocean County Sheriff's Office said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A pedestrian was hit and killed Saturday night on Fischer Boulevard, according to New Jersey State Police records.

The incident happened at 8 p.m. on the southbound side of Fischer Boulevard, according to state police records and the Ocean County Sheriff's Office, which sent an alert about the closure about 8:25 p.m. Saturday.

The crash happened in the area of Overlook Drive, the sheriff's office said. It was not clear how long the closure was in place.

The state police database of fatal crashes shows a pedestrian death at 8 p.m. Saturday on Fischer Boulevard, listed as County Route 549.

Information about the victim was not available Monday evening. A request for details about the crash sent to the media inquiries email for Toms River's police department had not been answered as of 5:30 p.m.
