Toms River Mobile Home Park Fire Under Investigation, Dog Hospitalized
The homeowners were not home at the time of the fire, officials said. One dog was taken to a local animal hospital for injuries.
TOMS RIVER, NJ - Fire officials in Toms River are investigating a fire that broke out at the Roberts Mobile Home Park late Thursday morning.
The blaze at 32 Roberts Rd. was reported shortly before noon and was placed under control “quickly” by the Pleasant Plains Volunteer Fire Department, Silverton Volunteer Fire Company, East Dover Fire Company and Whitesville Volunteer Fire Department.
The mobile home was not occupied at the time of the fire, the Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention said in a statement. The bureau is conducting the fire investigation to determine the cause of the fire.

The fire is currently believed to be accidental in nature. It was contained within a utility area within the mobile home, officials said.
One dog was rescued from inside the mobile home by firefighters. The dog was provided with emergency care at the scene and was later taken to a local emergency veterinary hospital for further treatment, officials said. The dog’s condition is unknown.
