A new Rutgers-Eagleton poll finds residents generally feel confident choosing plans, but still see the system as complicated, expensive, and heavily shaped by Trenton’s influence over private insurance options.

Trenton bill aims to expand tax breaks for disabled veterans (shorenewsnetwork.com) — Lawmakers meeting in Trenton are advancing a bill that would expand property tax exemptions for disabled veterans, tying relief directly to federal disability ratings and starting at 10 percent. The proposal, A2717, also requires the State to fully reimburse municipalities for the cost, protecting local budgets while increasing support for veterans and surviving spouses.

(nj.com subscription) — A beloved Trenton-born pizza tradition is getting a fresh start nearby, as a new generation of the DeLorenzo family takes over the longtime Sloan Avenue shop in Hamilton while keeping the classic Trenton tomato pie style. The pizzeria, which traces its roots to Trenton in 1938, will reopen in 2026 with a revamped dining room, expanded menu, and a clear separation from a neighboring marijuana dispensary.
