Local 354 is asking for assistance from residents as well.

The organization will compile a list of needs and wishes "and fill as many as possible," according to Boffa.

Financial contributions are requested by Dec. 19.

Donations can be left at police headquarters, Boffa said.

"Because a significant amount of specific requests are made each year, we request financial support to purchase those specific items requested by the parents/guardians," he added.

Checks can be made payable to Bloomingdale Local 354 Toy Drive and cash donations will be accepted at headquarters from 8 a.m. until midnight, according to Boffa.
