Cabinets Caught on Fire in Bloomingdale Home

Home declared 'uninhabitable' after police officers extinguished fire.

For the second time this summer, officers assisted with a residential fire on Main Street.

On Friday, Ptl. Marc Loveland, Sgt. Robert Ressland and Ptl. Michael Fatzer responded to a reported fire at an apartment just after midnight. Police said the tenants had already vacated the building and officers were able to extinguish the fire. The . went through the apartment to ensure safety. No injuries were reported.

Police said they determined the fire appeared to have started by someone cooking on the stove with cooking oil which had spilled on to several cabinets. The cabinets then caught on fire.
