County Offers Tips For Controlling Mosquito Population
Residents should prevent pools of water from being formed on their properties.

There are several steps residents can take to help control the mosquito population in Passaic County.
Passaic County Mosquito Control has offered several tips for residents to help control the mosquito population. The county has sprayed for adult mosquitos in town several times this summer.
- Properly dispose of unwanted containers (tires, buckets, cans, etc.)
- Change water in birdbaths and wading pools on a weekly basis
- Make sure rain gutters are properly maintained
- Remove any hidden debris (plastic containers, wrappers, cups, aluminum cans) that are located behind bushes or shrubs
- Make sure toys kept outside do not collect water
- Make sure flower pots do not hold water in their bases for more than two or three days
