Officer-Involved Shooting Investigated In Morris County

Prosecutor's Office says no threat to the community after a Butler police officer shot his gun Thursday night.

BUTLER, N.J. – Local and county authorities are investigating an officer-involved shooting after a cop fired his weapon Thursday night, Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Captain Richard Rose announced.

On March 31 at about 7:30 p.m. the Prosecutor’s Office was informed by the Butler Police Department of an officer-involved shooting in which one of the department members discharged his weapon, Rose said.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no threat to the community, but Rose would not say if there were injuries.
