Duprees Headline Outdoor Concerts Throughout County

Series this week features musical groups in Verona, Newark, Bloomfield, Montclair and Orange.

 

Looking for a way to stay cool with your neighbors and friends during the Dog Days of summer?

A series of live, outdoor concerts aimed at keeping you cool take place this week.

Tonight, jazz saxophonist Bradford Hayes, performs hits from his latest album, “The Jazz Life,” at Essex County Vailsburg Park in Newark.

Verona residents are invited to attend a free concert by “The Duprees” sponsored by the Verona UNICO tomorrow night at Civic Center Square in front of Verona Town Hall, 600 Bloomfield Ave. beginning at 7 p.m.

The group is known for their hits from the 60s, including: “You Belong to Me,” “Have You Heard,” and “Why Don’t You Believe Me.”

The concert is only open to Verona residents.

This is the eighth year the township has held summer concerts.

Head over to Monte Irvin Orange Park in Orange on Wednesday for a concert by Denise Hamilton beginning at 7 p.m.

Rounding out the week, cover bands Separate Ways and Standing in the Shadows will perform a tribute to Journey and The Four Tops Friday beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Essex County Brookdale Park on the Bloomfield/Montclair border.
