Police Blotter: Motor Vehicle Stop Leads to Warrants Arrest
The following information has been provided by the Verona Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Feb. 17: A Claremont Avenue resident reported a piece of wood used to hold a gate closed had been broken at 7:06 a.m.
Feb. 18: A Woodland Avenue resident reported he got a phone call at his home at 4:15 p.m. asking for a business. The resident told the caller the that he had reached a residence. The Woodland Avenue man then searched the Internet for the business name and discovered his phone number and name were listed for a business as the owner.
Feb. 19: A Morningside Road resident contacted police to report a lost passport at 7 a.m. Later in the day the resident called to report she had located the missing passport among some personal papers.

Feb. 19: Verona police arrested an Irvington resident on charges of driving with a suspended registration and driver’s license and for having outstanding warrants out of Irvington and Lyndhurst. He was stopped on Pompton Avenue at 8:57 p.m. After his arrest, he was processed at police headquarters and turned over to Irvington police.
Feb. 19: Verona police were called to the West Caldwell Police Department at 9:27 p.m. to pick up a man on an outstanding warrant out of Verona. He posted bail and was released.

Feb. 19: Verona police impounded a car and issued a summons to a man at 10:22 p.m. for driving with an expired registration on Pompton Avenue.
Feb. 21: Verona police are investigating an act of criminal mischief at 1:47 p.m. involving someone throwing a rock through an attic window on Morningside Road.
Feb. 22: Verona police are investigating the theft of some tools from a contractor’s car parked on Forest Avenue. The car belonged to a contractor working in the area.
Feb. 22: Verona police are investigating the theft of a laptop computer from a Linn Drive residence. The resident said the computer was taken sometime between January and February.
Feb. 23: A Grove Avenue resident said her bank account had been accessed and more than $400 in fraudulent charges were made to the account.
