Update In Case Of 2 Missing 15-Year-Old Girls From The Jersey Shore

Ariana Cosme was found after she was last seen on Friday, Neptune Police said. Payton Cox, who was last seen Sunday, is still missing.

Editor's Note (UPDATE): Ariana Cosme and Payton Cox have both been safely located as of Sunday, Feb. 23, authorities said.


NEPTUNE, NJ — One of two missing girls from Monmouth County has been located, Neptune Police said Wednesday morning.

Ariana Cosme, who has been missing since Friday, was found and is now safe, police said.

Payton Cox, 15, of Neptune Township, is still missing as of Wednesday afternoon.

At 2:20 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16, Cox left her home wearing black and red checkered pants, black shoes, a white zip-up hoodie and a dark-colored jacket, Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Spokesman Christopher Swendeman said.

Cox is 5-foot-8 and had a black backpack with her, according to authorities. She was last seen boarding an NJT train in Long Branch at 9:30 p.m., which was headed for Newark-Penn Station.

She could be in the Newark-New York area, Swendeman said.
