Shoplifting Suspect Threatened To Shoot Store Employees, Then Fled: Police
The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Walgreens on State Highway 35, Wall Township Police said.
WALL, NJ — Two people were arrested Saturday in connection with a shoplifting incident where one of the suspects threatened to shoot store employees, Wall Township Police said.
The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday when Wall Police responded to a report of shoplifting at the Walgreens on State Highway 35.
A person entered the store and took multiple items worth $477, police said. After they were confronted by store employees, police said the suspect threatened to shoot them (though no weapon was seen) while leaving the store with the stolen products.

The suspect then fled the scene in a vehicle with another person. Shortly after fleeing, police spotted the vehicle and conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of State Highway 35 and 17th Avenue.
As a result of the stop, police said Jolene Anderson, 35, of Neptune, and Arthur Edwards-El, 62, of East Brunswick, were arrested. No firearm was found in the vehicle.

Anderson was charged with robbery, shoplifting, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance, police said. Edwards-El was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, receiving stolen property, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
Both Anderson and Edwards-El were processed and brought to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, police said.
