Kara Blakeslee of Wall Township selected as a Quinnipiac University orientation leader for 2012-2013 academic year

HAMDEN, CT -- Kara Blakeslee of Wall Township was selected as a Quinnipiac University orientation leader for the 2012-2013 academic year.
Orientation leaders act as university ambassadors and are among the first individuals to help transition incoming freshmen to campus life. The orientation leaders help freshmen to build confidence, knowledge and motivation to access campus resources, services and information; acclimate to the university community; and develop personally and academically. The orientation leaders also help freshmen to appreciate the differences within the student population and develop a network of students and faculty who will help them advance their education and career goals.
During the sessions orientation leaders are divided into teams of two who lead groups of approximately 12 incoming students during four summer orientation weekends. They take the freshmen through ice breakers and team building exercises to create excitement surrounding college life.
