Attempted Car Thefts, Home Burglaries In One Hour In Wall
South end of Wall was hit with a total of six incidents of attempted car thefts or home burglaries from 8 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Suspects fled.
WALL NJ — Six incidents of either attempted car thefts or attempted home burglaries in the south end of town were reported within one hour Thursday night, police said.
The reports were from Horseshoe, Sterling, Riverside Terrace, River Road, Equestrian and Deer Run streets, police said.
Out of those six reported attempts, two involved burglaries to residences. Suspects in the incidents sped off when they saw police.

"Wall police had officers and detectives in the area during these incidents. Upon seeing police, the suspects fled the area at a high rate of speed," police said in a social media post.
Police said one home had a front bay window smashed, but no entry was made. The other home had a garage entered after a suspect removed a garage door opener from an unlocked vehicle.

The vehicle used in these incidents is believed to be a dark colored BMW SUV occupied by three males, police said. You can see a video of one of the incidents here.
Regarding the attempted car thefts, police said three vehicles were left unlocked and entered. The other attempts were made on locked vehicles and the suspects left the scene.
The reported attempts started around 8 p.m. and ended around 9 p.m., police said
Police in Wall just this week warned of an uptick in burglaries and offered security tips to residents.
Police advise that residents:
- Remember to lock your cars.
- Take your valuables out of your car, including key fobs.
- If you can, leave your exterior house lights on.
- Lock your house doors at all times.
- Call the police if you see suspicious activity - do not confront suspicious people.
