WALL, NJ — In a race for three open seats in the Wall Township Board of education, only one candidate was on the ballot.

Betsy Cross and Christine Lang-Steitz got the highest number of write-in votes, according to the Monmouth County Board of Elections.

Lang-Steitz was elected in 2020 for a one-year unexpired term seat, along with Adam Nasr, who was the only candidate running this year.

"I am the only one on the ballot. Literally. My wife thinks I'm nuts. She's probably right," Nasr told Patch in October. "I am running because I believe that education is one of the most important services we provide to our community."

Patch reached out to Cross and Lang-Steitz for comment but they have not replied back in time for publication.

Many parents also called for some of the board members to resign and criticized their handling of this situation.

  • Write-in - 1,977
