Cheers For The Cheerleaders

A Pop Warner cheer squad was honored for its national achievement at Wednesday's Township Committee meeting.

Mayor Ann Marie Conte, a former cheerleading coach, read a proclamation recognizing the work of the Pop Warner Junior Midget Large Advanced cheerleading squad. The team placed third in their division at the 2010 Pop Warner National Cheer & Dance Championships, held in Orlando, Fla., in December. (Please see the Wall Patch story on the competition .)

"Such a proud moment to cultivate such fine children in our community,''  Conte said after reading the proclamation. "I wish you all the best.''
