An Excavator Pulling Down A Pole Caused Rt. 34 Closure On Friday
The mishap caused a portion of Route 34 to be shut down late Friday morning.
WAL, NJ – An excavator operator accidentally hitting a power line and pulling down a utility pole was the cause of over 1,500 Wall residents losing power late Friday morning, according to Wall Township police.
A crew from Jersey Central Power and Light responded and safely removed the wires, during which traffic was detoured on Highway 34 from Allaire Road to Highway 70.
The Wall Township Police Department was assisted on the scene by the New Jersey State Department of Transportation, South Wall Fire Department, and Wall Township Police EMS.
