Man Extricated After 6-Vehicle Crash In Wall
Police say the 73-year-old man suffered a medical episode as he drove on Sea Girt Avenue Saturday and crashed into five other cars.
WALL, NJ — A driver had to be extricated after having a medical episode and crashing into multiple cars on Sea Girt Avenue in Wall on Saturday afternoon, police said.
The driver was a 73-year-old man from Bradley Beach.
He was driving a 2003 Ford Taurus West on Sea Girt Avenue when he suffered a medical episode and crashed into cars on Sea Girt Avenue and on Highway 35 and into the Simonas Bakery parking lot, police said.

A total of six cars and six drivers were involved in the accident.
The 73-year-old was trapped inside his car because of his medical condition and of the damages to the car caused by the crash.

He was extricated and taken to the Jersey Shore University Medical Center. None of the other drivers were injured.
South Wall Fire Rescue responded to the accident and deployed a new electric Holmatro rescue tool for the extrication.
The other drivers were a 63-year-old woman from Sea Grit, a 66-year-old woman from Neptune City, a 47-year-old man from Brick, a 47-year-old man from Wall and a 26-year-old man from Howell.
The incident is still under investigation, police said.
