Police K9 Helps Make Drug Arrests In Wall

K9 Cash and his handler, Ptlm. Martin, helped make multiple drug arrests on Monday, police said, both in Wall and a neighboring town.

WALL, NJ — A Wall Township Police K9 and his handler were instrumental in multiple drug-related arrests on Monday night, both in Wall Township and while assisting a neighboring police department, Wall Township Police said.

Around 9:30 p.m. on Monday, K9 Cash and his handler, Patrolman Martin, assisted another agency with a suspicious vehicle investigation.

K9 Cash's efforts during the investigation led to the arrest of a suspect, police said, who was charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute, among other drug offenses.

Later in the shift, K9 Cash also assisted with multiple motor vehicle stops in Wall.

Around 10:40 p.m., K9 Cash assisted in the arrest of Steven Sanchez, 30, of Belmar, who was charged with possession of cocaine and paraphernalia before being processed and released on a summons.

At 1:03 a.m., K9 Cash also helped arrest Michael Mylet, 69, of Howell, who was charged with possession of crack cocaine and paraphernalia, police said. He was processed and released on a summons.

At 2:09 a.m., police said Ptlm. Martin saw a suspicious vehicle parked at a gas station on Route 35.

An on-scene investigation led to the arrest of John Paxton, 61, of Manchester, and Marlene Sullivan, 41, of Bayville, who were charged with possession of crack cocaine and paraphernalia, authorities said.

Sullivan was also charged with an ordinance violation for public urination, and both Paxton and Sullivan were processed and released on summonses.

"The Wall Township Police Department remains committed to proactive enforcement and working closely with other agencies to address criminal activity that impacts our community," the department said in an online post.
